I always have been interested in seeing how others play so I thought I'd make this thread so the community can show off their set ups.

Here is my current set up at school.

Please post you own. I'd love to see what the community uses to battle.

3803

Rig Specs:

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 x2 Duel Core Processor 6000+ 3.10 GHz
RAM: 4GB
Video Card: ATI Radoen HD 3800 Series

So not a bad set up but not the latest and greatest out there

Just took 2 quick pictures with my phone, this is my gaming area of my room:

3804
40" (I think?) Toshiba tv, 360, PS3, ONKYO HT-S3400 5.1 Home Theater System (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168 82120182)

My current PC setup:
3805
32" (I think?) dynex (shitty brand) HDTV, 19.5" ViewSonic monitor, the computer has:
Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168 13157274
Processor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168 19103727
Fans: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168 35553002
GFX: ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
RAM: 4 GB
OS: Windows 8 64-bit

Not built for a gaming rig, but for longevity, and it is a major, MAJOR, upgrade from what used to be in that computer case.

I see Blackhawk has a great taste in gaming peripherals. I'll post up my college dorm setup once I clean up this mess. It's quite bad right now.

However, my OLD home setup is here:

P.S. will post my setup when I get my new monitor stands. My rig isn't a Blackhawk rig, but it's pretty tough, and I am going piece by piece on my battle station to make sure everything works before ordering the next piece, etc.

Lol. They're awesome. I love how they're detachable and whatnot. The one in the picture only has one segment (other than the drawer one) so that I can use it as a nightstand and a place to put my laptop when I play xbox, but I have another one on the other side of the room with 3 extra segments that I use basically like a bookshelf.

I gave mine to my girlfriend. I have a metal set that kinda sucks but is fine as a two-story shelf. It's what I use right now for side storage next to my battle station.

On the console side, I run standard Xbox 360, but I've got it running all through HDMI up through a capture card. 42" HDTV.

On the PC gaming side:

1 HP Dv6 with AMD A10 and AMD graphics set (Pretty beefy when mixed with my 16 GB RAM)

1 Macbook Pro with 16 GB for video editing, featuring the full Adobe Creative Suite

As far as software goes, I have a Steam Account, and Planetside 2 and TOR Account as well.

I also use my Turtle Beach X11s with everything, since they're compatible.

And with connectivity being at the core of this, I unfortunately have a .750k Down connection and .350 Up connection.

The desktop specs are alright. 4 cores, 8 gigs of RAM, Radeon 6700 series GPU, 2 TB harddrive and an Asus Motherboard. The keyboard and mouse are just some cheaper alternatives to major gaming peripherals. One 22" monitor and two 19" monitors. The secondary desktop is an HP 1 core desktop that I leave on to play Slay, keep my Google Calendar on hand, run my proxy, and allow for guests to use. The only two things not pictured in my battlestation are my Acer 17" Notebook and 11" Netbook. The Notebook went dead while I was on vacation, dunno what the issue is, and the Netbook generally stays upstairs or around the house, obviously. I have an older 360 with HDMI, the Roxio GameCap I'm sure everyone is familiar with, and some Turtle Beach X31's.

So overall, not a very expensive set up, but a solid one, and one I am proud to have built up myself, including purchasing my own damn desk for it.

I've really been getting sick of the crappiness of my laptop. So I recently decided that I'm going to push back getting an Xbox One until next year, and instead get a new laptop for the Fall semester.

Now I've looked around a bit and I'm fairly sure this is what's going to be happening around early September:

Toshiba Satellite A215-S7428
->
Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p

AMD Athlon 64 X2 TK-55 (1.8 GHz 512KB L2 Cache
->
4th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ (2.40GHz 1600MHz 6MB)

2.0GB DDR2 SDRAM @ 667.0 MHz
->
8.0GB DDR3L RAM @ 1600Mhz

128MB ATI Radeon X1200
->
2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M

15.4in 1280x800 Resolution
->
15.6in 1920x1080 Resolution

160GB HDD @ 5400.0 rpm
->
1TB HDD @ 5400rpm

10/100 Ethernet | USB 2.0 | 5-in-1 Card Reader Input
->
1GB Ethernet | USB 3.0 | 6-in-1 Card Reader Input

VGA | S-Video Output
->
VGA | HDMI Output

Up to 1hr Battery Life (Due to Age)
->
Up to 5hr Battery Life

No Webcam
->
HD 720p Webcam

I think I should be able to get a pretty good balance of portability and performance out of the Y510p. Let me know if I'm wrong, and if you have any suggestions! No matter what I'd say it's a hefty improvement over what I currently own.

Lugging around a big laptop around campus won't be your friend, Kaz. My friend had a 17" Alienware and he hated it's weight and didn't have a backpack large enough to fit it securely.

I would look at seeing if there are two hard drive bays in your laptop, as getting an SSD for your OS will be a god-send. An HDD at 5400rpm isn't going to cut it for going to class back and forth.

My current laptop is comparable in weight to the Y510p, and I've only ever minded the weight on walks >1mile (which won't be happening this semester). By portability I mostly meant good performance with halfway-decent battery life, which my current laptop has none of. I didn't think it would be possible but the new Haswell chipset have shown to have great improvements in extending battery life. Also booting Win8 up from Hibernate is pretty darn snappy even on a 5400rpm HDD so I don't find that to be any issue.

And if down the road I do, the Y510p has Lenovo's "Ultrabay", which is a section on the righthand side where you can swap out Optical Drives, HDDs, SSDs, or even another GT 750M if I wanted. So if I do end up wanting a SSD later when my budget is bigger I could easily just add one in.

Oh, and as for "lugging it around", I might add that FGCU's Campus is absolutely tiny compared to pretty much anywhere else. xD

I recently got that, Bioshock Infinite, and Assassin's Creed 3 for $70. I never trade in games because it isn't worth it.

NECRO BUMP:

I recently added a Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Classic Mechanical Keyboard and a new 42" Sharp 120Hz 1080p TV to my set up (previously had a stock Asus desktop keyboard and an Insignia 32" 60Hz HDTV).

Apologies for the mess (many things have been moved today), but I thought I'd revive this thread of winning!

My PC specs haven't changed (mostly negligible, quad core AMD FX series, dual R7 260x running 3 BenQ 24" monitors and cheap peripherals), but I have been spending a lot of time working on my actual workstation set up.

It started out as this:
http://img2.wfrcdn.com/lf/50/hash/2315/10008941/1/Space%2BSaver%2BComputer% 2BL%2BDesk.jpg
Original post: http://fcwars.net/forums/showthread.php?10365-Your-Gaming-Set-Up&p=137353&viewfull=1#post137353

I thought I was hot shit, but it was too complicated, so I revamped and streamlined.

If anyone is interested in laptop specs i can post them. the desktop in the corner is a junker though and is just there as a media device

Here's my workspace. Mostly use it for multi-media(animation, video editing) and gaming/

This is my build. (https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Dave_MW/saved/#view=47VXsY)

Here is a pic of the desk. Monitor on the left is a cheap 1440p (https://www.dropbox.com/s/zhikbjclqxlwu1q/20151116_194024.jpg?dl=0) . For sound I use a corsair vengeance wireless headset. I got my wacom tablet for 3D texture painting/scuplting and photoshop.
