I already have a Roxio for my Xbox and i've tried using roxio with xsplit, the "default" livestream software for Twitch. Was wondering what you guys use and if maybe have any good free ones out there that I can use. If you can't tell I'm very short on $$$

I have always just used xsplit, works the best I think.

What is your problem with xsplit?

I'm an insane fool and I use both Xsplit and OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) to stream my 360. Xsplit works as a camera to capture the 360 which I use as a camera in OBS, which in turn uses less system resources then just using Xplsit to capture and upload.

Sadly, the only streaming software that I know of that is free and can capture the 360, is, well, none. Xsplit is the only one I know of. you might be able to do it with the free version, but I wouldn't bet on it.

You could use OBS to capture the screen region inside the Roxio program as well. I've done this in the past and it works, but sometimes it messes up and any other window over top it will be captured instead.

tl;dr Open Broadcaster Software or Xsplit

What is your problem with xsplit?

Right now my main problem right now is audio. I can capture video perfectly when I connect my roxio to xsplit. It's just that on both my PC and Xbox playbacks I can't hear any voice and/or audio background.

What kind of cables are you using? Are you configuring the cables right? If so the audio should playback on your computer which should capture the sound. For voice I just use my computer headset.

Another possibility is FFSplit, which is a free alternative for XSplit, intended to have the same features without the subscription. It's still in development, but it's coming along and works decently well, but many features haven't yet been added.

EDIT: This won't fix your audio issue. Check your cables or settings for that, like Blackhawk mentioned.

That could be it. I'm using my Turtle Beach headsets (x11 for PC and x12 for Xbox). What I think I might be doing wrong is I should be using the mic chord on the x12 in the audio jack on my PC for xbox recording. However with I use the same method with my x11 and that doesn't work. I might just have a wrong configuring on xsplit or something.

Meh, I doubt it's your headset. When I record, I use my X11s. The cable has a 3.5 audio and mic jack, along with the xbox mic jack split off on a separate setting. I put my mic jack into the controller, and the other two in the computer, and use the roxio software to capture. It all ends up working fine. Just might be how you set your settings. (Also, be sure to have audio output come through the speakers on the xbox, so that you can hear other player's voices.)

or it could be that I have my x12 set in the audio output instead of the input on the roxio.

Do you use HDMI cables?

HDMI is the easiest way. Basically I have an HDMI running from my xbox to my roxio capture card. Then I have an HDMI cable running from my capture card to my TV. Then I have the power cord from my roxio to my USB slot on my computer. That is it. If you don't use HDMI it gets more complicated but here is a picture for that setup

that's the setup I have but my problem is my mic. As of right now my audio jacks (mic and headset or whatever the green chord is) are in my pc and the usb is in my xbox.

Then switch it. The usb power chord needs to go to your computer.
