Your Thoughts on Macklemore?

What's your thoughts on Macklemore? Do you think that Thrift shop was a fluke, or do you think his music is deep?

I, for one, love his songs. I'm not a big fan of Thrift Shop (Don't get me wrong, its a good song! Just that the lyrics are meh), but his other songs proves his ability as a songwriter.

One of the few rappers/hip hop artists that I actually enjoy and who doesn't glorify drugs and sex.

I'm gonna be honest and say that I haven't really given him a chance. I just can't get into today's rap and hiphop like I do with 80s and 90s artists. Really I've only heard Thrift Shop and Wings. But out of that I will say that I like that he seems to have a message with his songs. I'm definitely going to try and get more into his music.

I'm a big Macklemore fan. Thrift shop doesn't portray him correctly and its a shame that most people only know him for that. Its a catchy song but IMO not even close to his best.

1: Fuck you lol jk. Im a Seattle native just like him and we have to support our Mariners, Seahawks and the former Sonics because that is what true fans do.

2: I never really listened to him until he sang at Opening Day for the Mariners the season when Dave Niehaus passed away back in 2011.

Ever since, iv supported him in anyway possible. And that recent news where he got pissed that the Oklahoma Thunder played one of his songs to pump up the crowed because the song was about Seattle Teams (not the team that was stolen from us)

Hate how your nba team was stolen, you guys had our condolences, hated how some from your city decided to try and take our team.
Hopefully you guys get an expansion, but the Kings are staying in Sac.

I used to be a high supporter of Seattle getting the Kings. But when I really thought about it, it really made no sense at all.

I just hope the lawsuit that Sac. got on monday doesn't hurt you guys badly. Exapansion was going to be the only option no matter what. I just hate Stern with a passion and I can't wait for him to retire from Commissioner at the end of this year

That's not rap dude. Don't judge all rap by the dumbasses they play on the radio. That's only a very small percentage of rap...
Macklemore is alright, but if he's the only rapper you listen to, you're really missing out..

i'm always happy to take recommendations. and i listen to other rap occasionally i suppose, but he's the only one i listen to on a semi-regular basis. That and falling towards the sky.
