Chapter One: The Dream
Ben’s eyes opened as he stared into the night sky, he was laying by himself in his backyard just observing the beautiful sky that was fanned out infront of him. The small white dots that twinkled. He let his mind run wild, and soon he was asleep.
Ben opened his eyes again, but this time the sky was covered in patches of purple, red, and blue clear smudges. To his eyes they looked beautiful, but he never remembered ever seeing them especially from his backyard. He sat up and looked around only he was laying in his backyard anymore. He was on a beach, waves were crashing lightly to the shore. He stood up and looked around, a figure stood on the beach a ways away from him. He focused and realized that it was a girl, and he began walking towards her.
As he approached she turned to him, and smiled. He had to stop and just look at her, she was gorgeous. Only as soon as he went to speak she vanished into a wisps of smoke. He turned in a circle as laugher boomed through his entire head. He pieced everything together and realized that he was dreaming.
“Very good Benton, you have realized what most have not. This is a dream, but this isn’t any kind of dream. This is a Lucid Dream, you can control anything to your liking. However I need you to try one of two things, first I want you to change the scenery around you. Change it back to where you were before you began dreaming,” The voice said.
Ben closed his eyes and focused on his backyard, and when he opened them everything was how it was before, except the night sky was still the same as before with all of the colorful smudges.
“Splendid! Now focus on creating energy, such as fire. Try and create fire, Benton.” The voice said.
Ben closed his eyes and took a deep breath, he focused very hard on creating fire and as he opened his eyes he brought his hands, palms open infront of him and watched as small balls of fire began to form within them. However his focus was broken as the voice began, “Very very good! Now it’s time for you to wake up, you have school in the morning and sleeping in the backyard isn’t the best option.”
Ben was woken by a quick shock and he sat up and looked to the sky and saw that the beautiful smudges of color were replaced with the same now boring night sky. He got up and walked to his back door.
As he laid down in his bed, his eyes just stared at the ceiling. He just let is mind wander, as he tried to think what the hell just happened. Before he knew it he was asleep again.
