Doing some research on the Flood for the story I'm writing, and I come across this...

The parasite infects a host (Mainly a few species of ants) and changes their behavior. It forces them to go as high as possible to gain a good vantage point. Once there, it kills the ant, decays it, and now has a tall point from which to release more spores to infect more ants.
It's like the start of a real life flood. Imagine this strain became human borne? Oh dear...
