The idea for this thread started a long while back, and I have been working hard creating the most useful thread. Based on the title, you should already be able to tell that this is the one. ;)
But sadly, I was busy, because of my position, so the idea got put off and stored into the recesses of my brain. Truthfully, this idea could never really have died, because, even after partial retirement, I still get questions daily about how to do this or how to prevent that. My goal here is to answer almost any question you could ever have about FC, and arrange it in such a manner that you could easily find said answer through the use of way too many links, categories and other such details. Because of the ginormous number of questions involved, the actual questions aren't guaranteed to be in any particular order, but they will all be related to their respective categories, so you'll always be able to find related questions relatively easily.
Get ready for a gigantic festival of information!

Why won't my animated avatar work?
Resizing an animated GIF image usually does not work while still retaining the animation. The Avatar size at FC is 100x100, so if your avatar is larger than that size, it will be resized and the animation will be lost. There are several websites available to help resize animated GIFs if you do a quick search.

Two possible reasons:
Your avatar was too inappropriate, and the staff removed it.
Somebody used their vCash to change your avatar.

How do I put an image in my post?
The easiest way is to get the URL for your image and hit the Image Button in the editor. This will insert the image right into your post.

How do I put a video in my post?
For most major video sites (i.e. YouTube, IGN, PhotoBucket, etc.), posting a video is as easy as pressing the video reel button.
For instance, if I wanted to show my friends a funny YouTube video, I could copy the URL,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0EVSP_6XZA and simply paste it into the box that comes from the video reel image, and it will appear.

Why isn't my video working?
If a video pane shows up, but it is the wrong video, there's a chance that the site changed how it embeds videos. Please PM an Admin, and they will attempt to correct the issue.
If no video appears and you are left with just a link, then the video site is most likely not supported on FC, or you didn't copy the correct URL. You can PM a staff member for help, otherwise a link to the video will have to suffice.

In order to turn images off (for use on mobile phones), you can do the following steps:
Go to the User CP (http://fcwars.net/forums/usercp.php)

It is suggested that, if you make updates to one of your maps, you submit a new thread for it (marked with a version number, if you deem it necessary).

Gamertags are available in several locations around the site and other places.
On a user's profile, you can go to the About Me Tab. Here you will find, under the Gamer Details section, the user's Gamertag, as well as their PSN ID if they have one.
When viewing one of a user's posts, right away you can see the user's Gamertag as well as buttons that allow you to send them a friend request or an XBL message.

There are several methods that you may use to send a PM.
If you want to send a PM to a single member, the easiest way is to choose the option from either their profile or one of their posts.
If you want to send a PM to multiple people, then you can go to the Send New Message page from the left-hand column on the User CP or Private Message pages.
From here you can enter in each individual username, each separated by a semi-colon. If you select the usernames from the dropdown, then it will input the semi-colons for you.

How do I put an image in my post?
The easiest way is to get the URL for your image and hit the Image Button in the editor. This will insert the image right into your post.

How do I put a video in my post?
For most major video sites (i.e. YouTube, IGN, PhotoBucket, etc.), posting a video is as easy as pressing the video reel button.
For instance, if I wanted to show my friends a funny YouTube video, I could copy the URL,

Why isn't my video working?
If a video pane shows up, but it is the wrong video, there's a chance that the site changed how it embeds videos. Please PM an Admin, and they will attempt to correct the issue.
If no video appears and you are left with just a link, then the video site is most likely not supported on FC, or you didn't copy the correct URL. You can PM a staff member for help, otherwise a link to the video will have to suffice.

In order to turn images off (for use on mobile phones), you can do the following steps:

I want to play XBL with some FC members. Where can I find their Gamertag?
Gamertags are available in several locations around the site and other places.
On a user's profile, you can go to the About Me Tab. Here you will find, under the Gamer Details section, the user's Gamertag, as well as their PSN ID if they have one.
When viewing one of a user's posts, right away you can see the user's Gamertag as well as buttons that allow you to send them a friend request or an XBL message.

There are several methods that you may use to send a PM.
If you want to send a PM to a single member, the easiest way is to choose the option from either their profile or one of their posts.
If you want to send a PM to multiple people, then you can go to the Send New Message page from the left-hand column on the User CP or Private Message pages.
From here you can enter in each individual username, each separated by a semi-colon. If you select the usernames from the dropdown, then it will input the semi-colons for you.
