After playing the beta most of you know the meat and bones of battlefield three. However were still missing the vital organs and the skin of the deal.
First of all, the beta was played on a month old code. It takes about a month for Sony and Microsoft to approve things like betas. More than half of the problems the beta had were already resolved before we even got our hands on it. The only problem still creating havok was the twitching on the ground but still alive and killing people glitch.
Now, the beta also had accelerated ranking. I reached level 29 within 12 hours of gameplay, it should take MUCH MUCH longer in the final version of the game. Along with that it should take 100+ hours of gameplay to unlock everything the game has to offer, for EACH KIT. This includes all the guns and attachments for them, so if you have a favorite gun you want to use you better be prepared for days worth of gameplay to unlock it. Overall I would estimate over 500 hours of gameplay unlocking everything each kit has to offer as well as the vehicle unlocks.
Which brings be to my next point: Vehicles. Sadly, Operation Metro was vacant of any vehicles, however they will naturally be in the final game. All of them, this includes Jets. Now comes a little bit of info which deeply depressed me. Vehicle unlocks, now BFBC2 had these, and they wernt terrible, however in BF3 the main problem with these unlocks is the Jets. From the beginning of the game all you have in a jet is its Machine Gun, you begin with NO flares, NO missiles or bombs, just a machine gun. That wouldn't be a problem if Engineers didn't have heat seaking missile launchers like the Stinger, but they do. I've also heard from people who played Caspian Border on the final weekend of the beta (DICE gave PC Caspian Borders for the last weekend) that these missiles were near impossible to evade without the flares.
WEAPONS YAY!!!! You may think that the beta was a little stunt on the weapons side of the game, however, have no fear, there will be many more weapons in the retail version including the: M16A4 (three round burst, single auto), Javalin Ground to Ground Missile Launcher, Portable Mortar, and a few others that I will let you guys find on your own when the game comes out. Some of these will be unlocked through playing the multiplayer, and some will have to be unlocked through playing the CO-OP campaign. I don't know what weapons the COOP will unlock but DICE promises that its worth it.
Maps, now in the beta there was only one, however on release there will be 9 maps total and if you pre order the game you will recieve the Back to Karkand DLC pack free, now if you don't preorder B2K can still be bought, but it wont be free. B2K will NOT be avaliable on release. Maps we currently know about are:
Operation Metro: You played this map I don't need to show you footage.
