Today, Congress holds hearings on the first American Internet censorship system. This bill can pass. If it does the Internet and free speech will never be the same. Join all of us to stop this bill.

That is optional information. It is meant so that they statistically determine which regions of the country are more involved, and also to inform you of future issues similar to censorship.

You don't have to put it, but they are a trustworthy group.

I've been actively involved with this via DemandProgress.org

I really don't like Liberals all too much, but there is sooooo much greed and backroom deals behind these unconstitutional acts that it disgusts me. I had the opportunity to talk about this in my economics class (from the business and business expansion standpoint of groups like YouTube and Google) and alerted my entire class to this. A lot of them got their parents to sign the various petitions.

DemandProgress alone delivered 500,000 signatures on various petitions to Congress today. Google's Eric Schmidt and other opposition members of SOPA/PROTECT IP almost weren't allowed to talk at all in these hearings. The reasons for these bills are complete bullshit and corporate greed infecting the American Governmental system. *facepalm*

Myth do you have the link for outside US Residents to sign? This is way to close to China/Iran for me.

This may also be a scare, and a hint from a wise Canadian. Isn't controlling a nation's media, freedoms, and (if you may use the internet that much) privacy. Communism?

This may also be a scare, and a hint from a wise Canadian. Isn't controlling a nation's media, freedoms, and (if you may use the internet that much) privacy. Communism?Communism usually uses it, but it isn't directly related to communism.

This is something that always happens if the government gets too strong, as ours has. The federal government is dozens of times stronger than it was when the Constitution was written. The US was meant to be a confederation (even when the Constitution replaced the Articles of Confederation), but now it's become a republic, and is slowly heading toward socialism.

The government has gotten more powerful and invaded people's rights because the majority of people are stupid, and vote incorrectly.

People always say that politicians are corrupt and bad, but they still vote for politicians to control this country. The hypocrisy and stupidity is evident everywhere.

Want to know the first step to preventing the destruction of America? Stop voting for liberals for God's sake...

Mythonian 2012 ~ Because Humans fucking suck at being politicians!

No, but I agree people are the reason why this country is going in the shitter. Because they watch an Ad on TV and think they know about the issue or the President.

I personally would prefer just a stronger centralized government that could compromise on all issues, rather then split in half.

If I were to vote for a Conservative, it would be Ron Paul. Solely because he doesn't come off as a complete dumbass to me.... Like everyother Republican currently running.

Hell the Constitution wasn't even developed to have two separate parties fighting over control of the government.

A mix of conservative and liberal politics is the best option.

Sadly it feels more like voting for Liberal A or really Liberal B. There is no side that is the worst, it's most of them altogether.

If a strong government could be like that, it would be good. However, that is something that is impossible. The larger and stronger they get, the more corrupt and inefficient they become.

The founding fathers were brilliant in how they wanted the government to be set up. However, we ended up ignoring almost everything they wanted and almost immediately started to screw this country over.

This kind of puts this whole thing into proper words for those who don't know. This shit is scary. Politicians want to break the internet just to put money in their damn pockets.

American politics = Who can get the most money the fastest, while ass raping the hell out of the people.

This bill is Unconstitutional and any crackpot dumbass politician who wants to tell me otherwise will get the Bill of Rights shoved up their ass.

PROTECT IP was narrowly defeated in the initial round of Senate hearings (52 against to like 46 or 48 for).

SOPA, if voted on now, would most likely be defeated because the Democrats are turning against it (which is good, even though I don't agree with Democrats on the vast majority of issues).
