Event: War-Sim Game

Good Evening. This is a transmission for all members. Are you interested in a game of war simulation? Then this is for you! Problems at New Atlantis have called for all available soldiers to attend. Each Squad will consist of a CO, XO and two 3 soldier Fire Teams. The Blue Team will be the invading force into the city of New Atlantis. They will land via a ship, into a small military outpost. There are three entry-ways into the city; one by swimming underwater to a small landing area, one by a small soldier walk-way, and one on a large vehicle bridge. There are also a Falcon and Banshee for aerial transportation (although I may be deleting the Banshees for balance purposes). Each side has a Warthog, Mongoose, Falcon, and Banshee. Red has a Ghost as their specialty for quick patrols along the roads while Blue has an energy sword for dispatching of close quarters foes. New Atlantis includes several buildings that are all accessible, for look out positions as well as marksman roofs for Red to use to stop the Blue invading force.

I am not sure yet of what gametype I will be using yet, however I do hope to create it's own gametype. Possibly each team gets 3 lives or so? I want the gameplay to feel like a real war, not simply everyone rushing out to die and then repeating after respawn. I want there to be a briefing by the CO's at the start of the game to command the Fire Teams to attack or defend certain locations, Fire Team Leaders to maneuver their Fire Teams into different locations or moving a certain soldier forward in a scouting maneuver. I want it to feel like a real war basically, not just a Halo game. Sign ups will be first come first serve, although I may move someone around if I don't feel they can perfectly match the position they request. So what are you waiting for? Get in the battle soldier! The date will be decided after we get things a little more structured.

I was thinking about trying to create an Invasion game-type for it, but that would take away from the options that the CO's have. I wanted to have it be sort of a free-form game, where they had free reign of how they would handle the battle. Could create several gametypes though.

For right now, I want to test-run this Thursday at 9 PM EST. We can pick up randoms if we don't end up getting enough support for this Event by then, but I want to test it out to change the Map around and edit the settings if need be.

I'll join up for BLUE of course but I'll probably make it only on Sunday and p.s. the sniper thing gave me an idea what if we made separate squads that had separate abilities like maybe one squad is a sniper team so they maybe get more sniper ammo or one are mechanized specialists so they get a warthog.

So, this event would have been better, had I had time to edit out the Banshees xD That was obviously a mistake. Otherwise, I know I tried to get my Bravo Fire Team as interacted as possible, although I apologize, it was difficult since we were working with different people than used to and teams were scrambled. Hopefully, we can get a less hectic Event moving along, where we have time to set out some rules (like a delayed attack to get CO's integrated with a battle plan and such). Otherwise, for the first test, I think it went well.

Funny thing, I got on and only Eagle and Ballz were online that had signed up. So we got together, then I was like "alright, my dinner is ready, I gotta go get it and bring it to my Xbox, just try to get some people into the party so we can at least do a test run with some randoms." Five minutes later when I came back, the party was full. .__. Wasn't expecting that. Sorry Gamer. I'll try to do another run, but this week is the only time I have left.

So it would be like waves of attackers. Also, no Banshees, that was the biggest problem I remember. Perhaps Assault would be best as a gametype.
