December 21, 2012 is the supposed "End of the World".
The Mayan Calendar ends on set date.
Also Scientists using a Reltivistic Heavy Ion Collider are trying to recreate the "Big Bang" (big bang = load of bullshit)
Well mainly they are trying to find/create the "god cell" the cell that created the "load of bullshit"
Scientists have confirmed that they will have an answer to if the "god cell" is creatable/real by the end of 2012 right around december i presume.... So a couple possibilities: 1) The world gets sucked into a black hole (plausable) 2) US gets taken over (Homefront storyline) 3) The movie "2012" 4) McDonald's takes over the world....
Happy New Year :)
Any Opinions?

I have my own opinion. The Mayan calendar has been translated as not the "end of the world" but the "end of the world as we know it", and that doesn't mean the world will actually END it will just change somehow. My friend and I believe what the science has shown (and what this winter has shown) is that the seasons are starting to switch. Winter will become summer, summer will become winter, etc. or they will shift somehow.

That doesn't make much sense physically. The seasons are caused by the tilt of the earth on its axis.
When the northern hemisphere is leaning a little closer to the sun, we call it summer (southern hemisphere has winter at this time). When the northern hemisphere is leaning away from the sun, we call it winter (southern hemisphere has summer at this time).
That is why you'll here people sometimes say that Australia has Christmas in the summer, because it really is summer for them.
In order for the seasons to switch, it would require the earth to undergo an approximately 30-45 degree tilt spontaneously. Which is impossible.

I personally think the Mayans were simply mapping when humans will evolve into their next state of being, I feel like we are long over-due for a full blown evolution anyways. Maybe we'll get really small thumbs for better texting :p or perhaps really durable ear drums so I future generations can keep blasting music without all of the hearing problems we have now ^.^
Nah, but my real views are to radical for the lot of you comprehend and or even imagine unless you've watched the amount of shows and read the amount of crap I have on the subject.
My views don't see the world ending BTW haha

If what scientists are saying is happening, is...welll...happening then yes it is possible. They believe that the magnetic poles are switching (or are going to switch) and if that is true then the Earth will tilt once it happens...
Also, Eagle, I have read and watched a lot so please, enlighten us (me)

There are multiple black holes in our galaxy. There is a Super-Massive Black Hole at the center of our galaxy, as well.

I would agree with this. Lol.

If the Mayans couldn't predict the Spanish, then how can they predict the end of the world?
If the end does come though, Tug Speedmen will save us all!

1: The guy that was making the calander was gonna have to stop at one point.
2: The calander doesnt state that it will be the end of the world... people are just thinking thats what it means.
3: Their calander is different from ours... scientists had actually got it down to what december 21st, 2012 was for them on our calander... we would be dead before the 1900's
4: Its bullshit
6: you didnt relise i skipped #5
7: You looked back up to see i was right about skipping #5
8: If you seriously believe the world is gonna end on December 21st, 2012... then your a fool for anything
If your listining to the Myans, who didnt even prdict their down fall, to predict the end of our world? you should just walk out right now

I personally think the Mayans were simply mapping when humans will evolve into their next state of being, I feel like we are long over-due for a full blown evolution anyways.
Evolution is a slow process that takes millions of years. It's not gonna happen overnight. Your fingernails, for example, are disappearing. We're not climbing trees anymore.
And why are all of you assuming some apocalypse is gonna happen that day? The calendar ends. That doesn't mean anything. It's not like the Mayans left a Post-It next to their giant slab saying:
December 20: Paco's Birthday
December 21: End of World
The Mayans believed that prior to this life, the Gods attempted to make a world, failing three times. They succeeded on the fourth, creating one that humanity lives in today. However, the the previous world ended after a certain stretch of time. The Mayans took that amount of time and applied it to this world, believing it to be the end of a cycle. However, they believed a cycle existed before and as such, they accepted that there would be another to come.
This isn't the end of the world. But the Mayans believed something would happen. Although, they also believed in Gods, so I'm extremely reluctant to give in to anything they predicted.

Thats my point what if the Mayans knew something we didn't? Maybe those "gods" weren't fictional gods. Perhaps they were real, they were/are what we would simply call aliens in our day and age. Nearly all ancient texts talk about flying things in the sky, and beings more powerful then themselves. We have also discovered an ancient city in the middle east that has signs of a nuclear explosion going off in the dead center of it.
Angels and such came from the Heavens. Well to them the Heavens would be space. Those gods came down and fused their DNA with our own, thus creating current day human beings. Well this cycle ends, maybe those "gods" will come back to check on how we have been doing with the gift that they gave us. This all relates to a TV show called Ancient Aliens on the History channel. They provide good historic evidence towards their existence.
And actually are finger nails and toe nails aren't disappearing. We have multiple uses for them right now, such as protecting our fingers and toes and scratching. We used claws from climbing, but I don't see any humans with claws.

Yep, the Big Bang is a "load of Bullshit".(/sarcasm) Please, try and disprove it. Show me that it is a "load of bullshit". Making such stupid claims without backing it up just make you look like an idiot.
There have been, and always will be, a End of the World date. Most of the time it's religious fanatics who claim they know there deity/deities personally, or other nonsense.
Also, they're not trying to recreate an actual big bang of the magnitude that happened those billions of years ago. It's, well to put in simpler terms, a minuscule recreation of the big bang.

The big bang has been disproved plenty of times. That is why they hardly talk about it anymore. Theyre just repeats that entertain.
