I can either buy a new laptop, or save this months pay check, and build a desktop. What should I do?

Yes but if I do I want this graphics card. http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=59784&vpn=ENGTX590%2F3DIS%2F3GD 5&manufacture=ASUS This was more than the pay check I got this month, or just one of Nvidia's GeForce cards.

That card may be newer than the GTX 580, but it isn't better. Use this chart when buying graphic cards very helpful. http://www.videocardbenchmark.ne t/high_end_gpus.html

Alright, I also plan on getting 2 monitors, and eventually a 3rd. The 3rd would be a tv. We shall build a list tomorrow, cause I am not sure what all I need. Also I am aiming for Nvidia products more than anything. I grew up playing AoE III (Nvidia graphics), and my first (and current) computer has the old GeForce series.

It its a Nvidia card just made by EVGA. Ok if you are getting dual monitors you might wanna think about getting a cheaper graphic card. Because getting dual monitors is like $300-$400

I have from now, until the begging of summer; to build a computer. After that I work all summer do I can afford a small place. The $400 graphics card is fine, if I can get both monitors for around $300 I am fine.

I updated the list with parts that graphics card takes up a lot of budget and those monitors. The list doesn't include a disk tray, hard drive, power supply, and case. Obviously this goes above your budget, and my suggestion would to get a cheaper graphic card and taking a quad core cpu rather than a 6 core, and by doing that I could get a cheaper motherboard. Another way is to use your current hard drive of your computer. How big is the hardrive?

Look for your case here http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=E NE&N=100007583%20600006302&IsNodeId=1&name=ATX%20Mid%20Tower

K I updated it. I know it goes way over your budget, and the only thing I would suggest is possibly getting a cheaper video card, go from a 6 core to a 4 core processor, which means you could get a cheaper motherboard.

Okay, I would prefer to stay at a 6 core, and get a cheaper card. Can you list a Nvidia card that supports BFIII, Skyrim, and other beast games; that has a fair price? Shock protection in in case of power surge it doesn't fry your computer. 500gb-1TB, once every thing is done. I will budget and calculate the time needed.

Yup. Skyrim is pretty easy to run my card currently runs BF3 on high settings. I will update the list shortly with a good card.

K I put up a card that can run BF3 on the highest settings. Runs at 40 FPS on 64 player maps which is good because no card can run that much better on 64 player maps. I usually play on 24 player maps ;D. For shock protection just get a good power strip.

Its only $449.96 I could make you a better one with using only a $1000 budget, but I would probably cut out one monitor for now. You could always get a second one later

Yeah I would do the same. All you gotta do is when you order something off of Newegg. Go to your account then Order History then go to where you bought your monitor and you can always get another one unless they deactivate the item for some reason

Don't forget to save a little of that money for the games themselves. Also it's worth investing into some good headphones or turtle beaches if you don't already have one.

And if you're really getting into it, a decent gaming mouse and keyboard are worth buying.

Kinda overkill on the PSU.
Unless you are planning on going SLI in the future.
And if you wanted to overclock, you would need a different cooling mechanism.

... Which I actually don't see in your list. Going liquid or copper?
