FC Update 5.3

Mostly a review session...

Battle Canyon... Is 4v4

It's official. Battle Canyon has been changed to a 4v4 map. It will still be the second map played this Sunday.

Countdown and the possibility of other 4v4 maps are not finalized yet. A separate announcement will be made on those issues.

Both maps this Sunday are Anniversary maps, meaning that some of you may be unable to participate whatsoever. We apologize for it, but unfortunately things like this happen.

War Bonds Clarification

There's a few of your who have been interested in purchasing War Bonds for you army, but no one really knew all the details about it.

For some basic information, including payout details, see the Rules of Engagement, Article III, Section 3 (http://fcwars.net/forums/showthread.php?5580-RULES-OF-ENGAGEMENT#War%20Bonds).

In that section, it previously said, "Limit of 30,000 vCash donated per army between each Battle Night."

That is being changed and clarified a bit. Instead of it changing by Battle Night, it will be from the time the previous Attack Plans is posted to the time the next one is posted.

Basically, when Attack Plans are posted, the limit of 30,000 vCash is reset, meaning another 30,000 can be donated until the next Attack Plans are posted, when the limit will reset again.

This change was made because of the fact that before, armies had to get donations within 2 days each week if they wanted to use them in their Attack Plans. Now, it'll be easier to armies to use donations and easier for members to donate.

If you wish to purchase War Bonds for your army, you can contact me or another Admin. All War Bonds are inputted into the Statbook's Treasury sheet (http://Limit%20of%2030,000%20vCa sh%20donated%20per%20army %20between%20each%20Battl e%20Night.) for all to see, so it doesn't really matter who receives the request.

Additionally, those interested in donating but who are told that "someone has already donated the max amount" will no longer be denied. Your donation will be placed into a queue, which will automatically be given to the army once the limit is reset the next time.

Map Updates and Revisions

Usually, changes are made to the maps every few days. These could be balance adjustments to try to ensure that games are balanced, or could be test versions to try to improve maps that are already balanced.

Whenever changes are made, they are posted about in the Official Map Editing (http://fcwars.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?160-Official-Map-Editing) subforum. Generally, there is a single thread for each map. If you have comments, suggestions, criticism, etc., place it in the appropriate thread.

I recommend ensuring that you are aware of the changes being made. For example, Ridgeline was recently changed to a test version where there are Mancannons atop each base, launching you toward the middle of the map. Also, the central "Tree, Dead" structure no longer spawns in Hill 30 or Conquest gametypes. These specific changes are in testing at the moment to see if they improve or hamper gameplay. If you've got an opinion, please let us know about it in the Ridgeline (http://fcwars.net/forums/showthread.php?5969-Ridgeline) thread.

In the recent Podcast (http://fcwars.net/forums/showthread.php?6049-FC-Podcast-Episode-10-quot-Hangover-quot), the Forge Department and issues about map testing were briefly discussed. On this topic, I'd just like to say that I plan to resolve the issue and get more people formally and officially involved in the process.

However, this won't be seen to fruition for at least a few more weeks until my classes end and I've got enough free time for it. More information on this will be provided later on.

The Spamful Spambox

Just a quick reminder to everyone...

The Spambox section, as well as all other sections of these forums, are under the Accords. Excessive posts will be met with repercussions, sometimes severe.

There is a difference between spam (which is allowed) and inappropriate content (which is not allowed). If you are about to post something you belief may be borderline, I'd recommend sending it to a Moderator before posting.

I believe that when I first added the Spambox, I specifically asked for you guys to not make me regret it... -.-

Reminder:

Metropolis, due to balance issues on the map, has been removed and replaced with High Noon. You can already see the change on the most recent warmap.

We had removed all 4v4 maps and were only using 6v6 and 8v8 maps. However, a large portion of the majority disliked it, so we have reverted to using all three sizes. We'll be providing more details about the addition of 4v4 maps once the details have been finalized.

High noon is a great map when used correctly I second that idea.

Also I understand now; good move - 4v4's are amazing team building and friendship building experiences. Anything larger gets messy, I remember my first game on sword base with Bacon and Bazonga as a 4v4; honestly nothing promotes the friendship that this community is about more than smaller games.

Ex; a small class room with say 10 kids will learn better and more enjoyably than a lecture hall of 100.

Though any class with chuck norris will kick ass. xD
