Don't worry. Nothing too major has changed.

First, a recap:

Battles this Sunday (tomorrow), May 13th, are cancelled. The next Battle is on the next Sunday, May 20th. Still at 6:00 PM EST. Be there.
We will be battling on Highlands (8v8; Sym) and High Noon (6v6; Asym). See Attack Plans (http://fcwars.net/forums/showthread.php?6286-FC-Rev4-Attack-Plans-(05-20-12)-06) for details.
Finally updated the Warmap (http://fcwars.net/forums/showthread.php?6287-FC-Rev4-Warmap-06).
Countdown and Battle Canyon have been converted to 4v4 maps.
Manifest has been replaced by Anchor 9, and Boardwalk has been replaced by Reflection. Both are 4v4 now.
The Top 10 for April (http://fcwars.net/forums/showthread.php?6237-FC-Rev4-Top-10-April-2012) is out. (NOTE: Still haven't found the time to distribute the vCash!)

Shining the Light

Just earlier this morning, Raz unveiled the "FC Spotlight", which will be a monthly segment that features one member from the community. This may be a older, more distinguished member, or it may be a newer one.

If you are interested in being in the next FC Spotlight, then just be active on the forums and try to make a name for yourself. You might just catch Raz's eye.

For the first ever FC Spotlight, VerbotenDonkey, current Major General of the REDD, was selected. You can click his face below to be taken straight to the FC Spotlight thread:

Content Management Reorganization

This is the main point of this update. This is what has been occupying a lot of time for me throughout the last two days.

I've tried to simplify and more effectively organization everything that has been posted to the Home page. All 180 articles.

The last time I changed the organization of the FC Insider was July 27th of last year (http://fcwars.net/forums/showthread.php?3114-A-Few-Changes). It needed another change.

Before, I had two different and semi-compatible methods of organization. First, the "sections" which were almost like entirely separate front pages. Second was the "Categories", which worked similarly to tags.

Well, because there were only a few of each, we ended up with a lot of things being in the "Miscellaneous" category. Additionally, if you were looking for something more than a few weeks old, it was almost impossible to find.

So, I completely reorganized everything. Instead of having multiple "sections", we only have one now, the "Forerunner Conflict Insider". We now have a much wider variety of Categories, as well (we now have 13 instead of only 6). I also added pagination links at the bottom to allow you to find older content.

If you are looking for a podcast, for example, there is a category for it. Maybe other threads that have showcased members? There's a category for that too.

You may notice that some content contains more than one category attached too it. This is because that thread contains information that fits within multiple categories. For example, numerous FC Updates contained Website Update stuff, or Contests/Events.

Let me know what you guys think about the new organization system.

Want to be Fixed?

I never announced this before, even though I added this in like two months ago...

If you go to the bottom right of any page, you'll see a dropdown menu for the Quick Style Chooser. There, you'll see "FC Underground" which is the default style. Right under that is "FC Underground (Fixed)".

What this does is prevent the page from automatically expanding in width when you expand your browser window. For many of you with monitors more than 1000px wide, this will probably be quite useful for you.

You will also notice that there is a lot of blank space on the sides now...

Calling Graphics Artists!

Due to the blank space in the "Fixed" style, we are looking for a background image which fits our theme. If you are intrigued, here are some specifications: at least 1920px wide, with a 990px section in the middle for the actual page; at least 1500px tall; it must suit the theme/style of the site and blend well.

If you are willing to help us out with that, you'll be awarded with the generic vCash. Maybe 10,000 or so, since it would be a decent amount of work. Additionally, we may give you a personalized Style that you can choose instead of FC Underground! (may take awhile to set up, though).

If there are multiple quality submissions, we'll be giving out multiple prizes.

Congrats.

Yeah, Fuzzy complained to me a few months back because we didn't have one, so I decided to do it real quick, but forgot to announce it.

I did it two months ago, and you knew about it like 2 weeks ago, so w/e.

Well, since no one even attempted to submit background images for the Fixed style, I went ahead and modified our old YouTube theme to fit as the background.

I think it looks fantastic. If you think our site is bland or dull, it should liven things up a bit.

If you haven't checked it out yet, try out the Fixed style by selecting it from the dropdown menu near the bottom right area of any page on the site. It's above the Affiliate Banners and the "Underground.Style" logo.

Good update, Myth. Message me here or on skype for further details about the gfx, I'll probably have some time to try my hand at it.
