THE STANLEY CUP FINALS HAVE STARTED (actually Game 1 is in Overtime right now) BETWEEN THE LOS ANGELES KINGS AND THE NEW JERSEY DEVILS! The LA Kings barely made the playoffs as the 8th seed and have been the Dark Horse of the playoffs, they beat the best team in the league (Vancouver) in 5 games, swept the 2nd best team (St Louis Blues), and knocked off the Phoenix Coyotes in 6 games to go to their first Final since 1993. The Kings have NEVER won a cup since joining the league in the 70s. They have rode the back of American superstar goalie Jonathan Quick all the way to the Finals.

The New Jersey Devils have had an underdog story as well. This is their 5th appearance in the SFC, and they have won 3 Stanley Cups out of the previous 4 times they visited, in thanks mainly to legendary goaltender Marty Brodeur, who turned 40 just a few months ago. New Jersey went to 7 games against the Florida Panthers in the 1st round, beat the Filthadelphia Flyers in 5 in the 2nd round, and ended the top seeded New York Rangers hopes in 6 games to advance to the Finals.

Both teams have American Captains. Dustin Brown for LA, and Zach Parise (he scored the game-tying goal with a minute left against the Canadians in the 2010 Olympic Gold Medal Game). This series will be all defense and stellar goaltending.

I'm pulling REAL hard for the Kings to win. They are one of my favorite teams, and I'd love to see Dustin Brown and Jon Quick lift the Cup. NJ has won their fair share of Cups (3 in the past 17 years). It's the Kings time to shine, plus it would make for the best underdog story! Kings in 6!

GO KINGS GO!!!!!!!!!!

Who do you want to win?

Brodeur is an amazing goalie and deserves as many cups as he can get (hell, even this years he deserves it). But Quick has had a Vezina-Caliber season and deserves the Cup more than anyone this year. He literally carried his team this whole year with 10 shutouts and had like 3 of them in the final stretch of the season.

While I love myself an underdog story, the New Jersey Devils have been my secondary team since Arnott, Elias, Sykora, Holik, Rafalski, and Niedermayer in 2001 when I was a little hockey fan with tons of hockey cards. Haha. :P

Martin Brodeur FTW.

KOPITAR, BITCHES.

And yeah, I wouldn't be angry at all if the Devils won it, since Sykora is one of my all-time favorite players and so is Parise. But I really want the Kings! AND THEY WON GAME 1 ON THE DIRTIEST GOAL.

I am rooting for the Kings. I don't want the Devils to win because I want Parise to leave New Jersey. I am a Wings fan and I am hoping that this offseason we can pick him up but I feel if the Devils win the Cup the Parise might want to stay in New Jersey.

That is true. Haha. This shall definitely be an interesting series to watch.

Devils wanted to beat the rangers more than the kings it appears...quite a pity at least the rangers would of put up a good fight...Marty is getting too old for this....Lundquist is the king and always will be (but currently taking shots at myrtle beach) lmao Next year is our year Go Kings Quick is getting it done.

Kings got this,
but I just can't believe the Devils made it this far
When the Flyers beat Pittsburgh, I thought we would have an easy road to the cup
but then from nowhere the Devils put up this amazing for-check and made my Flyers look like a pee wee hockey team at best.
The Kings are my second favorite team, mostly because alot of them are Ex-Flyers, so im rooting for the sweep

I think LA deserves this, NJ is playing really dirty or maybe its just me, you NEVER highstick your opponent in Hockey... its a complete "No-no". Like T-bagging in FC, its ridiculous... =P
