Yeah, I thought it sucked. The acting of Bane's character was the only good thing about that movie. It was predictable and 2.5 hours too long. LET THE HATE FLOW AT ME =D

So the bad reviews were right? D':

I saw it... very recently(just got home) and I very much liked it. All my mom babbled about were plot holes and how it was a terrible movie, but I thought it was cool. I don't watch movies and use logic(unless it turns out it was all a dream, then that movies getting ripped to Hell). Also, I go to superhero movies FOR the predictability. How could they not be completely predictable. Anyone whos read the comics or seen the cartoons can predict the entire thing. Anyway, I liked it and I'd like someone to gives specifics as to why it was apparently a waste of time.

so its one of those blockbuster films that are fun to watch but dont amaze. (aka transformers) I can live with that. Plus, you just cant follow up the previous film with anything better.

It wasn't the worst sequel ever.

The dialogue could be cheesy and predictable at times.
Bane's voice sounds like a mechanical version of Dobby from Harry Potter. (Not very intimidating)
Often, time would pass without any real indication of it. There was a lot more to be capitalized on with that lost time.
It actually wasn't as showy as it could have been. In my opinion, there was a lot of missing action.

Aside from a few key moments, there's not much emotion you feel towards the characters.

That being said, it does redeem itself with some of the ending.

Personally, the whole movie just seemed really cliche.

Rant with spoilers about the ending below!!!
Really, Batman sacrifices himself by bringing the time bomb really fucking far away. That's so dumb. How many times has that happened in movies? Not to mention in a fucking Batman movie where they normally have really unique methods of destruction. Bane was hella underplayed (They fought twice, and it was honestly not very interesting.) and Miranda Tate has a weird role. She's the child of Ra! But she dies really, pretty goddamn easily.
I would have LOVED to see Gotham in anarchy more. It would have made much more sense to see the city defeated, with all the characters struggling to survive in the nazi-like-ghetto. Not to mention, they were in that state for 5 FUCKING MONTHS.
Bane is also a master tactician. Aside from trapping the police. I didn't see much of that. I wanted to have battle of the wits between Bane and Batman in the ruined city.

To be honest I couldn't give a fuck about the movie at the moment my only concern are the victims in Colorado

With the Negativity, I might not watch Brokeback Batman.

A crazy person assaulted a midnight showing of Batman in Denver, Colorado and killed 12 people and wounded 59 others. He boobie trapped his apartment, dyed his hair orange, and is telling the police he's the Joker. I think it's time for this guy to be sent to Arkham Asylum.

On the movie: the reason no one likes it is because they compare it to Dark Knight. Once Christopher Nolan made a top notch, greatest-comicbook-movie-ever movie, now everyone expects his comic book movies to be the greatest. This one just... wasn't. I.t's because of the Joker. Heath Ledger's Joker brought that whole movie together. Dark Knight wouldn't have done so well if the villain was say... the Riddler. But then, he paired the Joker with Harvey Dent. That was a comic book villain duo that could own the world. I believe the villains make the movie. I went to see Batman 3 cause I actually thought Killer Croc was going to be in it.

The Dark Knight sucked too. Heath Ledger did a TERRIBLE Joker. Heath Ledger did a very good crazy person with clown paint on his face, but Christopher Nolan's Joker sucked compared to Jack Nicholson, who stayed more true to the comic-book lore.

All of Chris Nolan's Batmans sucked in my opinion. They are nothing compared to the old ones, and absolutely shit compared to pretty much any MARVEL movie that isn't Daredevil or Ang Lee's HULK

Well Spartan, you're right. Keeping to the lore, he did a terrible job, but he wasn't going for lore. He was trying to make a darker, less optimistic Batman. Less BAM! THWAK! original Batman. The movies were only half about Batman. They were more about the de-evolution of Gotham and its redemption(if possible) and who would step in and try to fix it. It's probably some sort of allegory pertaining to society today, but I'm not even going to try and go there.

The first Ra's wanted to destroy the decaying pit of scum and villainy that was Gotham City. To do this he would go the poetic route and make everyone crazy and have them rip the city apart. Batman stepped in to try to fix Gotham before it got to that point. He failed and Ra's enacted his sinister plot.

The second was less about the complete annihilation of Gotham and more about demoralizing Batman. The Joker wanted to do 2 things:
1. Corrupt Batman by getting him to kill.
2. Show Batman that Gotham City isn't worth saving/protecting.
He failed at corrupting Batman, but he got to Harvey Dent which was just as good because he's like a public Batman.

The third connects back to the first in that it's about destroying Gotham again. This time they succeed. They break Batman so he can't stop them, then they proceed to knock down the upper class(I don't want to connect this to Occupy, but the 1% if you will) and turn Gotham into a true anarchial society enacting martial law and all that.

I won't say Jack Nicholsons Joker or Heath Ledger's Joker was the better Joker. They were both great, but you have to look at the movie around them. Jack's was going for an overall comic book movie. His was happy crazy, whereas Heath's was a dark, scary portrayal. Saying the entire series sucked because it didn't keep to the comics doesn't work if the director wasn't trying to keep to the comics. Influence for Rises came from A Tale of Two Cities mixed with Knightfall. The series overall was most comicly influenced by Knightfall, which is a darker, grittier comic about how far Batman would go to protect his city.

I absolutely hated Jack Nicholsons Joker, all I saw was Jack Nicholson being Jack Nicholson.

And seriously, you love the Bat Nipples and Bat Card better than Chris Nolan's movies? Not this guy.

Dark Knight Rises was good, it was a nice send off and a good way to end his trilogy. I love how every Batman film by Chris Nolan felt different from the last, and I absolutely loved Bane. They actually made him look and sound badass than some brainless fucking henchmen.

And to the person saying, "I don't give a fuck about the movie, I'm more concerned about the people in Colorado." Yeah, I understand your concern and I'm right there with you, we all are. But don't make it sound like you're a better person because you want to talk about that.

This is a topic for discussing the Movie not the shooting.

The two series are on completely different levels, so are the characters. You really cant even compare them.

Here is my take on the The Dark Knight Rises.

It was fucking amazing. I've been down in Florida for the past month with Scarekro and he has been reading the Nightfall Batman series. According to him The Dark Knight Rises is very accurate to the comics except for a few things. Scarekro even cheered in the movie when Bane broke Batman's back, because Bane is known for doing that.

Nolan's whole trilogy was to make a much more realistic Batman, and he did just that. The Joker in the Dark Knight acted like a crazy person, because well. He's a crazy person.

As for the movie being predictable, well it is. It's based off of a comic series that was written long before the movie was even put into production....
