I propose the next war should be a Halo 3 war if their is time. i believe we should progress from Halo 3 to 4 instead from Reach. and i know for a fact that at least half this community agrees with me that 3 is better than Reach and that quite a lot of you have a Halo 3 disc.

What you could do though, is make a mini-war even in H3. I'd do that. Maybe 6 maps total? 2 toward each side and 1 cap map.

A lot of people may not have $20 to spend since there are a ton of games coming out in the next few weeks/months (Madden 13, NHL13, Darksiders 2, Assassin's Creed 3, Resident Evil 6, etc). Plus you have to take into account all the extra DLC that may cost a few bucks. As Myth said, it would be better to do it as an event. It could be a little more laid back but you could still make it like a "mini-war".

I hate to take a dump on this when everyone already has, but you are talking about asking the community to possibly rebuy the game, and even if it is only $25 dollars, I do know of a handful that is an issue for, and I don't feel like having those people left out because they can't buy the game, specially when people are already going to be buying Halo 4.

If you want to have more Halo 3 events, then consider having some practices with your squad in Halo 3, it may do some good, as it will reacquaint members with the BR, and de-Reach them. Besides that, you can also very easily host gamenights for Halo 3 now. I can tell you personally for Ascension Company that we are looking forward to a nice, long peace time in which all we need to worry about is improving ourselves, and making the company feel even better than it does now.

If you want to have some Battlenight type stuff, I could say we could have Army Practices, in which both sides shares freely their own training excercises (come on, we are a community, and things need to adjust for Halo 4 anyways), we could try mock Battlenights with goofy gametypes like Dino Blasters, or Grifball (I know a few members in Ascension would love that), or hell, you could do something like what I have done, and get Achievement Hunting parties together to hunt down some of the remaining pesky achievements in Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, Halo Wars, Halo CEA, or Halo Reach. Another thing you can all do (if Verboten is still doing it that is) would be to attend the LARP that he has spent so much time on.

People forget too quickly that we are a COMMUNITY, and that means we can branch out from more than our bread and butter event.

I vote Nay, and to avoid basically repeating what everybody else said I won't list my reasons. Besides I have a lot of events in the works I may run during peacetime.

Look Reaper if you are dead set on doing this you can set it up yourself or even get a few friends to do it with you. But as for a full sanctioned FC event such as the actual battles I don't see it happening. I think what would be a better idea is to just do a Halo 3 tournament. Teams of say 4 can sign up and play each other in Slayer or a series of various gametypes.
