View Full Version : Halo 4 will require at least 8GB's of free memory space

Maybe old news, but I just found out about it.

To those who don't know, to play Halo 4 (with all the new features it has) you will be required to have 8 gigabytes of free space. I don't know why, whether it's because of all the Spartan Op's missions, or maybe there are going to be hundreds of DLC maps, or maybe it's just because of the graphics and etc . . . but you will need 8GB's.

This might not be a problem for some people, me included, but I know there are people out there who bought xbox arcades and might have used up a lot of the space they had. So start deleting EVERYTHING you don't NEED anymore.

Just get a USB flashdrive or something and use that to expand your memory. It'll save you a lot of money.

Move everything that doesn't require fast access times to the flashdrive, leaving space for the fast-access stuff (like Halo 4) on the actual hard-drive.

I got about 2 Gs left of space on mine. Might pick up a new box before Halo 4 drops, who knows.

You can also try uninstalling games, maybe Reach and Halo 3 if you installed those. I remember uninstalling Crysis 2 and I got a gig back.

I only have Halo Reach installed. Maybe I'll uninstall that when H4 comes out. I also have a lot of Halo 3 films saved as well as other stuff lol.

it's prolly for all the spartan ops missions, since they'll be released over time and will probably be title update downloads. also, map packs.

I figured about the Spartan Op's missions, but the way they said it in the interview made it seem like you needed the gigs to play at all . . . I don't know, IGN has gotten information completely wrong before, or twisted it to try and make people think how they want them to think.

I remember when they had an article that stated the Master Chief was the #1 most overrated videogame character in gaming history . . . I beg to differ (looking at all of the CoD characters . . . except Soap, Price, and Griggs . . . they were awesome).

FYI if you're using an Xbox Slim with a built in hard-drive, you can still add more hard drives to your Xbox but you either A. Need to buy a separate original Harddrive and manually take it apart with a TORQUE 10 screwdriver, or you can pay a lot more cash to get a memory "chip" which you plug into the side of your xbox. 20GB hard drives shouldn't be too, too much anymore. The store I work at sells them for $15, 60GB for $30, and 120GB for $40, so I'm sure if you look online it won't be too hard to fine some extra hard drives.
