I saw a few posts about that happening on the Waypoint forums. Supposedly some places ran out of codes or something?

If you preordered it online or used your RewardZone account, it'll be sent to the email associated with that account. (That's what happened to me, at least.)

I heard when you were picking the game up, you had to ask for it extra. They won't just give it to you. But that was for weapon re-skins and such, which sounds kinda like what you were talking about, but it was just for the preorder bonuses not Limited Edition stuff.
