FC Update 6.X
Happy Holidays!
Holiday Recap
So as a present, Metkil did some website maintenance (http://fcwars.net/forums/showthread.php?8728-Webmaster-s-Gift) and got everyone a new chatbox. You can check it out by going here (http://fcwars.net/forums/misc.php?do=cchatbox). It is also viewable on the main forum page (http://fcwars.net/forums/forum.php).
There are also a few other goodies in Metkil's bag of presents, but those won't be detailed quite yet, but expect some more awesomeness once those get fully setup and implemented. They'll help us out a bit come January.
Hopefully you all had a very merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and whatever else you guys do. There's a thread already created about what everyone got for presents, so head over there (http://fcwars.net/forums/showthread.php?8737-what-did-you-get&p=103632#post103632) and declare your spoils.
Socialize Fluid... Now a Thing!
Steadily working through the things posted here (http://fcwars.net/forums/showthread.php?8431-What-do-you-want-to-see-!). After the Shoutbox and several other things that Metkil gave everyone, now there's an option for the Socialize skin to expand fluidly based on your browser width!
You can switch to it by clicking here (http://fcwars.net/forums/forum.php?styleid=19), or through the style selection dropbox at the bottom of the page. Click here to revert back (http://fcwars.net/forums/forum.php?styleid=12).
Note that there are several adjustments I needed to make in order to have it work, notably the banner being trimmed a bit.
This was something originally requested by Purple Gamer and Coda, so congratulations on getting what you wanted for the holidays!
If you have anything else you want us to do to improve the skin, let us know and we'll get to it eventually. Just say it in a reply to this thread or Metkil's "What do you want to see?!" (http://fcwars.net/forums/showthread.php?8431-What-do-you-want-to-see-!) thread.
Beta War Concludes
So after six weeks of testing things, seeing what works and what doesn't, and realizing a few limitations that Halo 4 currently has, we've got a much better understanding of the maps and gametypes we'll be using for the next war.
We always want more feedback though. Suggestions are always welcome. If you liked what we did, or hated it and want us to change it all, let us know. So head over to the recent Battle Results and give your feedback on the Beta War (http://fcwars.net/forums/showthread.php?8722-FC-Rec0-Beta-Results-(12-23-12)-06)!
Just a reminder: there were no winners and no losers in the Beta War. It was meant to discover the best way to have Halo 4 work in our wars, and battle results were irrelevant. However, use it to see the status of your army, and work to improve as we head into the first real war. The real war will be the true test to see which army is greater...
Reclamation
As the war for Reach came to a bitter close, the R.E.D.D. stood atop the planet victorious,
claiming the planet for the Empire once again. Chasing their foes who fled before them,
the Imperial giant pushed the B.L.U.E. back into the stars. For a moment, it had seemed like
the war was over. That the Empire had once and for all crushed the Brotherhood in a decisive
victory. This victory however, was to be short lived, as their foe morphed before their eyes.
In the desperate final battle of Eposz, Brotherhood forces located and secured vital data
from the Empire, including data on Spartan-IV production. As they fled the system to rejoin
their brethren along the Outer Colonies, the B.L.U.E. command put forward a plan to wipe the
galaxy clean of the Empire forever. Establishing the Brotherhood Alliance as a political front,
the B.L.U.E. now had a counter to the Empire on all fronts.
As the two factions faced off, they turned to vital data secured from Forerunner
installations on Reach. Scores of valuable information detailing Forerunner installations
soon became a priority for both sides as they each reached their full potential. Amassing
the largest armadas in decades, both the Brotherhood Alliance and the Empire sent forth their
best soldiers to start this new war for the galaxy.
The Royal Enforcer Deployment Division and the Brotherhood Legion of United Exiles would face
off once more. A conflict of epic proportions with the fate of the galaxy hanging in the balance...
On January 6th, 2013, at 6:00 PM EST, the first battle of the First War of Halo 4 will begin in full force.
While the battle may feel similar to what we've been doing the last month and a half, this time it's for keeps, and will have a permanent marking in our community history. Take pride in your army and give it everything you have.
This war will be big, complex, and serious. Things are about to get real around here.
