If you want to leave, nobody is stopping you, your account doesn't need to be deleted, you can just say, "goodbye" and go. The hostility and distraction isn't needed, and this community is doing fine, and will continue doing fine.
I think you should leave your account up, and just take a break. Then if/when you decide to come back, you can.
