You decide to follow the shadow. You shoulder your gun and begin to move toward the flickering light. With every step you take, and every breath you make, you hear a scratching noise resonate from around you. You feel like something is watching you from every direction. You hear a loud noise originate from behind you, then the lights begin to turn on.

As the lights begin to fill the darkness, you notice things you didn't notice before. Bodies. There are bodies scattered everywhere. They're all disfigured with claw marks across their chests. You realize that every body has a blank space where their face should have been. They all looked like mannequins.

You hear a scuffling noise, but you can't pinpoint what direction it's coming from. Your sensor begins to pick up multiple targets behind you, the bodies begin to move. They start crawling toward you. One manages to latch onto your leg, but you quickly put a slug through it's brain.

You start running for the flickering light. The sound of babies crying floods your audio, followed by static. As you lock the door behind you, your sensor tells you that enemies are in the corridor with you. You go for your shotgun which seems to have disappeared.

You pull out your combat knife. A creature jumps at you through the darkness, but you thrust the knife deep into it's skull. Another one jumps on your back so you throw yourself backwards against the wall, crushing the creature. As you slaughter these "things", you come to realize that there is no end.

A heavy creature grabs onto your feet and forces you to the ground. It begins to smash your visor in. With every hit, your HUD flickers. The visor eventually breaks and the shards cut into your eyes. Before the creature can deal it's final blow, you gather enough energy to thrust your knife into it's chest.

With your vision blurred by shards and blood, you manage to wrestle the creature off of you and impale it with a nearby pipe. You get back on your feet, and slowly turn around to see thousands of creatures. You smile, and grab your combat knife and begin to limp towards the pale white eyes...

YOU'RE DEAD (?)

So, currently every option has reality tearing itself a new one and killing you with some kind of monster. why do i get the feeling that going in the vent won't be much different?

Silver, I don't recall dying this time.

true enough, you could do some deus ex machina thing to save him, but that would be pretty stupid, and there isn't anywhere listed to go or do, even if the pages hadn't been created yet.
