Still don't really get all the hate people in America had for him, when some of the people I know from Venezuela actually like the guy...Seems like its just more of the SOCIALISTS ARE EVUL bs that's been going on since forever.

Read his autobiography. It'll pretty much explain why I don't like him.

I completely agree. I mean for me, I think that although some of his policies were clearly spiteful for American interests, and the fact that he basically created a way for him to be elected ad infinitum, his goals of reducing poverty, stopping Imperialism, and improving education were very commendable.

I'm just saying, seems like a lot of people blindly hate him, when people I know who lived in Venezuela liked the guy.

@Ninja, that's what I'm saying. The guy may have been a dick to the US, but some of our allies are, no hate for them.
Idk bout the education because the people I talked to were past school, but they approved of his policies. Just seems like an excess amount of hate for a guy that did what most leaders do. Shit, we openly support(ed) dictators, but FUCK whoever does something for his people without our consent? Makes little sense to me.

It's what he does to people that are politically against him is what I hate. Yes he does well for most of his people but if you disagree wit him you disappear or go to jail.

He didn't "Disappear" people...he wasn't a dictator, he was an elected official, and had limits, even if he did get supporters into powerful positions. Granted, he did make life hard for opponents, even going as far as to ruin careers, but if he had jailed without reason or disappeared anyone, as an elected official, he would have been deposed..
He wasn't a saint, but he really wasn't the demon people make him out to be. Hell, if he was the tyrant people said he was, Caracas (and the rest of Venezuela) wouldn't have the crime problem it does, and my ex and her family would have never left.

Not trying to argue or anything, and not trying to defend him, so if I annoy anyone, just tell me, and I'll stop. Just think there's a lot of hatred born of misinformation and exaggeration.
