Now..
I know that battle nights are Sunday and have been for 2 Years. And before we all start trashing this thread because it's in the common suggestions Please hear me out.

Literally 80-90 percent of my squad is NOT available on Sunday night. this includes new recruits. I know that 1 squad isn't a good enough reason to change a long tradition. However, wouldn't it be pretty sweet if we didn't have to deal with the whole"Its Sunday and we all have school and work tomorrow" feeling?

Anyways, I'm just throwing it out there as a suggestion.. That is after all what this Forum is for.. If it doesn't fly, then it doesn't fly.

Thanks,

Im not going to vote mainly because Im in your squad. So I want all our members to be able to participate. But at the same time, I wouldnt mind it staying on sunday.

Actually, the Sunday time is meant to dampen that "end of weekend" feel so we go out with a bang rather than laying around waiting for walking dead all day.

The extreme problem with Friday and Saturday night that just makes those times unable to work, aside from the already established date of Sundays, is that most/a lot of people go out on Friday and Saturday nights, and simply wont stay in every week to play halo. Not many people go out on Sunday nights drinking or on a date, they stay in and rest before the week starts, and FC makes that a bit more eventful on a night we all usually stay in.

Personally though I have work Saturday nights. A lot of people have altered their schedule to fit FC, and altering FC to fit other people's schedule is a huge slap in the face to them.

Vote or die Mother F****r.... vote or die..

Nah all good man. And i agree. I personally could give a shit less what day it is, I just get the feeling that we wont have a full team (6v6 or 8v8 which was most of the last war) and it would be mildly pointless to participate.. i know the feeling of getting put with other members of FC that ive never played with and getting put against an organized squad. Not to mention its because of this that 2 people now have quite FC. Either their squad was too big and they were the 7th or 9th wheel or there was no one else online and wound up getting put as a fill in with no prior communication or practice involved.
This can problems and lessen moral for new recruits that have yet to play in a war.. personally i was in BP through out the entire last war and dont think that i ever played with a full BP team on any battle nights... it was always a mix.

Its been Sunday WAAAAY longer than 2 years, just letting you know.

Anyway, I vote for sticking with Sunday. Its a good way to ease into the week, and I personally enjoy ending my weekend with battles. Plus, it's much easier to hold practices on Friday/Saturday for the battles, then having Sunday would just be a waste day lol.

Also, people go out on Saturday nights.

Haha, try more like almost 8 years =P. It's ALWAYS been Sunday since 2005 for the exact reasons stated above. People go out Friday and Satuday nights (I mean, if really wanted the battles to be on Saturday then I condone you for your commitment, but the rest of us want to actually go out sometimes XD). Mondays-Thursdays are normally busy week days where most of us are in school/college/work, so that just leaves Sundays. Sure there are some people who unfortunately won't be able to make it, and we sincerely apologize but since the vast majority of FC can do Sundays, thats why we use that day.

FYI, we once tried doing Wednesdays for a few weeks...it didn't work out to well.

I agree, Sundays I can play all day and recover from my hangover.

What did you expect us to say lol? "SURE WE'LL DO SATURDAYS AND FRIDAYS =D". We're not being dicks, we're just being realistic. The reason we have the common suggestions thread is because this kind of topic has literally been asked several times a year and each person who posts it has valid reasons for a small minority of the community. This isn't trashing the thread, it's just we cannot adjust for the few and thus compromise the integrity of the community.

Im not sure i understand why everyone is so stuck on keeping it for Sunday. The reasons given is that most people go out on Fri/Sat and wouldnt be able to make a battle night for those days. This is why im confused because ive been told that many squads have practice on Fri/Sat. So how is it that people are able to make the practices on those nights but couldnt make it for an actual battle. Also, im sure not everyone in this community goes out every single weekend and therefore it wouldnt be as much of an imposition as one might think. Those who do go out on an occasional weekend would see how the other end of not being able to make sunday nights feels. Lastly, ive been a member of this community for less than a week and I realize that my input has minimal weight, but ive been so psyched about this site that ive told five of my co workers and friends (all great halo players). Unfortunately, after getting pumped up and excited about joining, each and everyone of them have told me flat out that there would be no point for them to join because they are busy on sundays (mostly with family). I just want everyone to take a minute and think if having it on saturday would be that much of an inconvenience after all. Just because you dont want to miss an occasional Battle Night on saturdays doesnt mean countless other members should have to miss out every single week if its kept on sundays.

Just my opinion, no insults intended

i'd support a saturday one, that way if battle nights run late i won't miss part of them. I'd also support it remaining sunday, as is. Though friday is just silly.

I just think that if its been asked so many times then there must be a lot of people that want it changed.. i wonder if this may partially be the cause of people going inactive... or the reason why there a not a lot of new recruits sticking around for very long.
maybe there are 20 or so people that are active enough in the forums that notice a poll like this and call it unreasonable and shut it down. Maybe the new recruits just don't have the balls to say something when its so directly shut out and the thought is almost literally insulted.
I didn't expect everyone to flat out say yes... i just wanted to get the idea out there.
You're right, there is a reason its in the common suggestions.. because it was obviously a COMMON suggestion. Does that fact that we are currently in a peace time and someone noticed that it others may want it changed not a good reason to purpose it as an idea.. Hell I think that it would honestly be a good idea to have a general poll at the beginning of every war to see what day the war should take place.. .. That way at least it has the possibility of cycling to a different day. We may not agree on it every time. But as it stands I can honestly say that if something changed in my schedule and I was unable to make it on Sundays and everyone responded as this when I purposed an alteration. I would quit FC all together as there is no reason for it.. Multiply that by everyone else who cant make it on Sunday and whats your community left with? Lets face it.. The battle night is what FC is based around entirely. With out the potential for flexibility you have a few dedicated members and complications finding new people that are not available on whatever given day it takes place as the option of change is "unrealistic".

The first part. As the majority of our members are making Sunday's it wont be changing. If however, something turned and availability dropped to major levels, we'd be considering it.

So whats the harm in putting up a poll before each war to give it the chance for cycling?
The one thing that I disagree with is that 'its a waste of time'
On the contrary, seeing as battle nights are the foundation of FC.. its entirely worth having the ability to allow everyone to be satisfied with the day

I'm not saying that it will change every time, or even this time.. But i still think that it should be seriously considered....

Polls aren't needed because we can see if it's an issue. Attendance is fine, and there have been no other people talking to their CO's about an issue. Just because you, or anyone else can't see the gears turning doesn't mean they aren't. People need to realize that, regular members aren't privy to every little thing that takes place, so we we who are say something is a certain way, 99% of the time, we're right due to the fact we do see everything going on.

It's not that you, or anyone else shouldn't or doesn't have a voice, it's when the WC-type members say no because of X, it's normally with solid information and good reasons.

My sales techniques are coming out. xD
and if you are offended by what I've said the get over it.. you're probably a higher rank than me so you should be me credit for having the balls to stand up for something against half of the FC High command.

I know alot of people (dozens in fact) who play video games every weekend and would love to play for a site like this, so maybe current active rosters are at an acceptable level but who is to say that the amount of members wouldnt increase dramatically if it were moved to Saturdays. I understand that changing it would definitely be a hassle and some current players including vets would be inconvenienced and perhaps might not make every battle night if it were moved, but isnt that a necessary sacrifice for the greater good of the community as a whole. Who knows how many potential and loyal recruits would join if it were moved to a Saturday when people are hanging out and playing video games anyway

Maverick you don't base choices on what may happen, you base them on the facts you have. If we had people in large enough numbers to need a change, it'd be different.

I'll make it simple guys, won't be happening.

Zucav, just because this is a common suggestion doesn't mean that it's come from 100000s of people. We get probably about 3 of these topics a year and we've had votes for them in which they have been LANDSLIDE wins for Sunday. It's a very small minority that would rather have it on Saturdays. You're arguing something that's been around for 8 years, it's always been Sunday and that's because it's always been the day that MOST of us have off. If there were more people available on Saturday, then sure we'd have it on Saturdays. But the way that Western Civilization society works is that: Mondays-Thursdays are work days. Fridays-Saturdays are relax/party days. Sunday is religious/rest day. Most businesses in the U.S. close around 5-6pm on Sundays. It's not that Sunday is just convenient for the vets, it's convenient for pretty much everyone in the community. Hell, I can't even play in the wars anymore because I'm not free on Sundays, but just because I can't play doesn't mean I should compromise it for the 200+ members that can.
