So It's Been a Month...

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. We try to do these every few weeks, but it's been a whole month since the last one. This one is gonna have lots and lots to go over as a result of this, though.

Last we left, PURPLE Army had just dissolved into the background where it belongs, and we gave hints of Metkil releasing the CometChat system. So let's get started...

Website Adjustments

As you all (should) know, Metkil and I do our best to find ways to improve the website. Also, MedeDust does our graphics.

Well, here's some of the most noticeable changes that hae happened recently:

1) Affiliation area at the bottom of every page now features popup menus! This went through several iterations throughout the month until I was satisfied, and I personally think it works quite well. I left extra space available for future affiliations as well.


2) FC Media and War Links popup menus near the top right of every page! Instead of a row of images that were confusing, now it's a handy popup menu with both images AND text! This is still a work in progress (I'm missing a few images still, which will be added ASAP), and may add more links. If you have any suggestions for links, let me know!


3) The FC Logo! MedeDust pulled some magic and whipped us up a series of awesome logos, one of which you should see standing defiantly alongside the affiliation area, and another at the top of this Update.

4) And now the first thing you guys noticed even before reading this, the background! Once again thanks to MedeDust for a new design! (Currently only on the FC Socialize Fixed skin, one for the Fluid skin will be released when available) It even utilizes the new logo design.

Cause for Salvation

This even drew the attention of one of our affiliates, hc knanibear from HaloUnity, who offered us a 117 Challenge. For every person who posted a comment on the challenge, he would donate $1 to the FC Salvation Army.

We ended up getting $63, which should ensure that Gunny and Toast are able to help out anyone who isn't able to renew their Live at the moment.

Mother's Day EXTRAVAGANZA!!1!ONE1!

So May 12th is Mother's Day. It is also a Sunday, which is when we usually have Battles.

Well, the War Council was not in total agreement on what to do, so we opened up a community vote for us to get some opinions.

The results were still split, but it's obvious that a large portion of the community will not be able to attend. However, another large portion WILL be there, and wants to still have something to do.

So, we're gonna do a compromise...

• Battles will be cancelled on May 12th due to Mother's Day.
• In it's place, a Mother's Day Battle Bonus Night will occur.
• In this Bonus Night, players will be able to compete like normal, but instead of trying to win a map or get good stats, you'll be working to try to get extra Credits for your army to use in the following week!
• During these exhibition games, for every 100 Score obtained in every game, your army receives 1 cR (will be rounded up to the next 50 cR).

The maps that will be played on are still undecided. Expect full details after this weekend.

Challenge Accepted!

Assuming you've seen the Attack Plans, you should already know that we're currently testing out something called Battle Night Challenges.

Every week, we will announce specific challenges for members. If you complete these challenges during Battle Nights, you can earn specific prizes, vCash, etc. Here are the challenges for this Sunday while we play on Dispatch and Settler:

Battle Night Challenges:

1. Get 10 kills with the Sticky Detonator in a single game on Dispatch. (500 vCash)
2. Get 10 kills with the Shotgun in a single game on Settler. (500 vCash)
3. Earn a Hill Dominance medal in an Occupation game. (1000 vCash)
4. Earn 2 of any of the following medals in a single game: Execution (Executive), Ballsassination (Asset), Flagsassination (Liberation), or Stay Back! (Extraction). (1000 vCash)

If you do manage to complete a Challenge during a battle, you will need to submit a form saying that you completed the challenge. You will be given a link to this form in the Battle Results following each Battle (and I'll end up putting a link in the top right "War Links" popup menu also).

Following this week, a subforum within the Web Department will be created for players to get directly involved in these, making suggestions for Challenges and verifying submissions. More details about this will be released next week.
