I've been thinking on this since you posted it. Haven't responded yet because I haven't been able to come up with a fully viable approach for it so far. Don't think it's being ignored or anything, though.

We sort of already do this to a degree with the Notices (such as what shows the MCC countdown clock right now), but I try to avoid spamming people with them, since they also have other uses such as helping new members go through the registration process, and cluttering it up will make it much more confusing for them.

I totally get that. Its when I view the main forum page I see the two empty sides and feel like one could house member ad's or information in the form of an image that catches the eye. Like a 100x400 area that scrolls with the page with the ideas in the original post. But I can understand the complications with this, thanks for giving it thought though!
