How to Use MCC

So the Beta War starts tomorrow. There are issues with the game. It'll be a rough night, but these tips below may help things be bearable.


1) Do a hard reset. For some people just downloading the patch isn't enough, so make sure you've done a hard reset since downloading the patch to make sure it has taken affect. (When your Xbox is on, hold the power button for 10 seconds to hard reset, which will clear your cache)

2) Join games individually. Joining as a group can break things a lot, so if you are party leader, back out and accept invites individually instead of bringing everyone at once.

3) Do not give Party Leader. Sometimes lobbies can glitch if party leader is given to someone else, so make sure the squad CO (or someone else who knows what to do for ending the game due to lag and other applicable rules) is already Party Leader before the game is setup. If it glitches and randomly gives leader to someone else, only give it away if needed; try to make it work without switching leader.

4) Be patient in Post Game. After a game, during the post-game carnage report, do not press Back immediately. You need to wait for the option to appear in the bottom left (usually takes 5-10 seconds, but to be safe wait a few extra seconds after it appears). Pressing it before the option appears will disconnect you from the lobby, and if you are party leader can crash the entire lobby.

5) Glitched Lobbies. Sometimes, the lobby can glitch in multiple ways. Here are a few of them and possible fixes. If the fixes don't work, someone will need to back out and remake the lobby and make sure that everyone joins individually.

• If the party glitches and prevents anyone from switching teams, (1) try enabling/disabling the Teams option in the game settings. If that doesn't work, (2) try backing out to the Main Menu (back sure to bring the lobby with you) and then return to Customs. If neither work, remake the lobby.
• Often times, game chat can glitch up, so rely on party chat for most of the night except when setting up the games themselves (go into party chat during loading screen or after everyone is situated in the lobby)
• Pregame teams sometimes (rarely) change by the time the game loads, randomly switching people to the other team. If this happens, end the game and restart it. (remember #4 above, and after the game it will jumble the teams so make sure everyone switches back to the correct team)

6) When to Quit Out of MCC. Sometimes things can get stuck and you need to press the Home button, press Start, and then Quit out of MCC to let you launch the game again. However, you don't always need to do it. The following is a list of when you should relaunch the game:

• If you are stuck in a "Connecting to Game" screen where the thing in the bottom right never goes away.
• If you are in a lobby and trying to invite someone, but the UI thinks they are already in your lobby (i.e., instead of "Join Player" and "Invite Player" it removes those and adds "Mute Player" at the bottom, and if you are leader it gives the "Kick Player" and "Promote to Party Leader" options), they are glitched and need to relaunch.
• If you are outside a lobby but trying to join, and it gives the above issue, you are glitched and need to relaunch.
• If you tried joining someone who just relaunched, it may glitch you and you need to relaunch.

Other Notes:

• If you are having trouble accepting invites and getting them to work, accept the invite before launching the game. (i.e., quit out of the game but, instead of relaunching it, accept an invite. Just wait about 10 seconds after quitting before accepting the invite, and ask for a new invite instead of using an old one) This works for some people but not everyone.
• There isn't join-in-progress right now, so if someone disconnects during a game please bear with it. If it's in the first 3 minutes end it like usual, but if it's after that try to continue the game (if you are on the team with more players, go a little easier on them or have someone on your team sit back or leave. Remember, this isn't a full war and winning doesn't matter)
• Be patient with things. This beta war is meant to test out our gametypes and such. We know MCC is having lots of issues right now, so please be patient as we try to get everyone into games.

If anyone knows any other tips or tricks for these things, let us know. We know it's going to be a rough night, but we want to give it our best shot to make things succeed.


EDIT: Accessing fileshares when people are offline or not appearing on the roster:
1) Make sure you have the player added as a Friend. They don't have to add you back.
2) From the menu, press Start, go to Leaderboards, and then select any of the leaderboards they would be listed on. Change to the appropriate difficulty, set Display to "Friends" (press X a few times) and set Players to the correct setting (Solo or Co-Op by pressing Y).
3) Click on their name and access fileshare.

For example, to find my fileshare:
1) Add me as friend.
2) Campaign leaderboards.
3) Game and Mission can be pretty much any of them.
4) Difficulty: Legendary.
5) Display: Friends.
6) Players: Co-Op.
7) Bam.

Only needed if they aren't appearing on the roster to the side. Can use that to access it much easier.
