    Power Supply Question

So I'm in the market for a Power Supply because mine took a dump. Or at least I'm pretty sure it did.

What happened was, when I went to go turn on my computer there was a loud pop that came from the back of the tower and a few sparks flew out from where you plug in the cable to the power supply. It would not turn on since.

It originally had a 600w. But would I be able to get a less wattage power supply? Here are the specs.

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 630 Processor, Quad Core 2.8 GHz
    Memory: 4GB DDR3
    Hard Drive: 500GB
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 5670
    Monitor: HP w1707
Sound Card: AMD High Definition Audio Device

So, unless any of you are willing to give me one for free, I need to find a the cheapest that will still work for this setup.
    Please help. Links are recommended.

    Budget?

    500W $40

I would go no less than with your setup. I have a 6-core processor with a Radeon HD 5850 same size hard drive and same ram with a 500W power supply

Okay that's a pretty good price. And is it pretty easy installing a power supply?

When you take the cables out of your old power supply just make sure you see where they go when you put it those cables in your new one

    Re: Power Supply Question

So I've been doing my research and I think I found a good one.

Would this work for my setup?
I used the Newegg Power Supply Calculator and it recommended me a 420w Power Supply.

This is what's in my PC

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 630, Quad Core 2.8GHz
    Memory: 4GB DDR3(2x2) (I will be upgrading to 8GB via 2x4)
    HDD: 500GB 5200RPM and a 200GB 5200RPM
    GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5670

and this is one I'm thinking of getting.

What do you think? Will it suffice?

EDIT: I decided it would be better if I played it safe(and for future upgrades) to get a 500w.
This one seems good. What say you?

Out of those two, definitely the 500W. Only $5 more, and it sets you up for awhile. Overall, good quality for that price.

    Re: Power Supply Question

I found a Cooler Master and I've been told they're more reliable.

Now it's out of these two.

Out of those two, I'd go with the Cooler Master. They have effectively identical specs, but the Cooler Master has an extra year on the warranty.
